Count slices first. Round pizzas up.

Pizza sizes and cuts vary, so the most useful number is the restaurant's slices per pizza. We estimate slices for adults and children, then round to whole pizzas.

  1. 1Count adults and children separately.
  2. 2Choose light, average or hungry appetites.
  3. 3Enter the restaurant's slices per pizza.
  4. 4Round up and adjust the topping mix for allergies and preferences.

Example: 10 adults and 5 children

At average appetite, the model starts with 40 slices. With eight slices per pizza, that becomes five whole pizzas before choosing the minimum or extra buffer.

Pizza Calculator for a Party FAQ

How many pizzas do I need for a party?

This calculator starts with three slices per adult and two per child, then changes the total for light, average or hungry appetites and divides by your slices per pizza.

How many slices are in a pizza?

Eight slices is a common default, but restaurants cut pizzas differently. Enter the actual slice count from the restaurant before ordering.

What toppings should I order?

The suggested mix starts near 50% cheese, 30% pepperoni and 20% veggie. Guest preferences, allergies and dietary needs matter more than this default.

Should I order extra pizza?

Choose the extra estimate for a long event, hungry adults, uncertain attendance or pizza as the only main food. Choose minimum when several other dishes are available.
